Thanks to the Allegheny County Library Association Youth Services (ACLA), my books will now be in Allegheny County’s first-ever ACLA Vending Machine. Children visiting family members will receive tokens to select FREE books from the vending machine when visiting a family member who is incarcerated.
Reading and looking through stories in picture books is a great way to spend time together during what can otherwise be a difficult time to connect. I hope that my books help lift spirits and reduce fear and frustrations during this time of anxiety and isolation. The joy of reading is a wonderful way to bring families together during their visits, and I am happy to support this program!
Parental incarceration can be traumatic, and I am pleased that my illustrated books will be available to families to aid in connection, and allow time for healing to begin.
