Leading Lady Sybil Ludington

Leading Lady Sybil Ludington was a young Revolutionary War Heroine who is often thought of as female folk hero. Sybil is often referred to as the female Paul Revere. Revere, however, was caught. 16 year old Sybil completed the rounds, and returned with a militia of her father’s men prepared to push the British back to their fleet in the Long Island Sound! However, some dispute the claims that she rode her horse through the night to warn of a British attack. 

Read and learn more about young Sybil, and decide for yourself. Then consider that instead of Sybil Ludington being referred to as the female Paul Revere, she could be known as the person who succeeded in warning of an impending British attack.
